This coming week, there is a lot of bad gun legislation being discussed in Concord. If you have time to sign in and oppose the bills it would be great. If you can do this Monday it would be best.
SENATE JUDICIARY Public Hearings
1:00 p.m. HB 196, adding trespass as an exception to the charge of criminal threatening. OPPOSE
1:15 p.m. HB 195, adding display of a firearm as an exception to reckless conduct. OPPOSE
1:30 p.m. HB 307, relative to the state preemption of the regulation of firearms and ammunition. OPPOSE
1:45 p.m. HB 334, relative to prohibitions on carrying a loaded firearm on an OHRV or snowmobile. OPPOSE
HOW TO REGISTER YOUR OPPOSITION
it looks tricky but it’s not. First go to:
On the home page and down on the right there is a grey area “Links to Remote Meetings”
For a House Bill click on “House Remote Testimony”
That takes you to NH House Remote Sign in Sheet
Click on the date of the hearing
Select the committee from the pull down menu
Choose the Bill from the pull down menu
Choose I am “A member of the public”
I’m representing “Myself”
Indicate your Position on this bill: Support, Oppose, Neutral
Testify: Choose one; remember they expect you to be brief and not read a long speech
You don’t have to testify, you can simply state your opposition and be counted.
Then on the next page fill in your name, etc.
I have used this method to sign up for testimony. I am always brief and VERY direct.
While you are at it and if you have time please also sent an email to the Governor at email@example.com asking him to use his veto power on these gun bills.
